Here are the manuals that we currently are offering. They are mostly reprints. They are inexpensive and in most cases have been resized into a common size that is easy to read and to file on a shelf or anyplace on a boat. Most are 5 1/2" by 8 1/2" with a stapled binding. All are in Black and White unless stated otherwise. These reprints are sold for their content only, and should not be purchased as "collectibles" or as exact copies of the originals. All contents are readable, but a few may contain unsightly marks from stains and penciled in notations by the original owners. We have tried to clean them up as much as possible, but some of the originals were in very poor condition. We have sold hundreds of these on eBay without customer complaint. If you use eBay, check our feedback comments from our eBay customers for the ID "doak" (without the quotes). There are some Original manuals for sale. They are listed in Red and are more expensive.
Most manuals are priced at $12.00 with a $3.00 mailing charge unless otherwise indicate in the publication description. Add $1.00 for Canada and add $3.00 for overseas mailings. Lyman Boat started up in Cleveland, Ohio and then moved to Sandusky where it made special "Clinker Built" boats that were great for the choppy waters of the Great Lakes. These boats were extremely well built and relatively inexpensive to buy. They had a beauty all their own. This catalog covers the following models: 28' Mariner Express Cruiser, 28' Islander Day Cruiser, 25' Inboard Sleeper, 21' Inboard Runabout, 21' Inboard/Outboard, 18' I/O, and a new line called the New Deluxe series of 18' and 16' outboards. Owners Manual for Chris Craft Roamer steel boats. This manual is reduced in
size from the original, which makes it easier to store on a shelf or in a
storage pocket on your boat. This publication has 45 pages and contains the
following information: Placing your new boat into operation, Operating Instructions, for maneuvering and docking, rough weather driving, anchoring, grounding and towing, and rules of the road. Under General Familiarization it includes information on the Power Plant and Transmission of Power. Here you will find info on the engine, reverse gear, Propeller and shaft and coupling, Propeller selection, cavitation, stuffing boxes, struts, and exhaust system. There is a section on Controls and Instruments, including ammeter, tachometer, gauging oil pressure temperature, throttle reverse steering and cruise controls. With metal hulls, the owner has to worry about the hull metal rusting out and also eroding away because of electrical reaction to the saltwater. CC installed a system called CAPAC to stop this action. The CAPAC system is addressed in this manual. All aspects of the electrical system are addressed. This includes the DC system, Batteries, Alternators, etc. and the AC system. There is a section on construction characteristics including hull design and the paint system. Interior facilities are also covered extensively. There is a nice section on general items such as water in bilge and the bilge pump, vibrations, engine efficiency, marine growth. There is a section on care of the hull, decks, propellers, window channels, chrome and vinyl upholstering. Repair techniques are also addressed. This is a very useful manual for the Roamer boat owner. |
