Super Hets, Tuned RF, Neutrodyne Plus, and Philco Auto Radios. (The
Antique Car Buffs will love that section). This is a technical manual and

Western Electric Vacuum Tubes. Here is an excellent
old manual on the early Western Electric vacuum tubes. Have
you seen the huge, old tubes used in power amplifiers and in audio
and transmitting stations? They are illustrated and explained
in this manual. This was a large format document originally
and has been reduced to our 8 1/2" by 5 1/2" format to save
cost and make it easier to store on your shelf. The contents
are still very easy to read. This is the 2nd edition and is described as "For Use
with Amateur Radio Telephone Transmitting Equipments". The following tubes are addressed: 101D (doorknob), 101F, 205D,
205E, 215A, 231D, 242A, 244A, 247A, 249A, 252A, 254A, 254B, 256A, 259A,

284A. Each tube has a tube and base diagram and takes two pages to
define. Everything you could ever want to know about the construction and
performance of these tubes is included in the manual. It is a "must
have" for any tube collector. |

"101 Radio Hook-Ups"
1930 Edition.
Here is a
current reproduction of “101 Radio Hook-Ups” by Radio News 1930. It has been
reduced slightly from it’s original size to smaller booklet form. The
cover scan is smudgy because the original cover was in poor condition.
The inside pages are excellent and clear. The book contains 101 radio
circuit diagrams and schematics for radios and amplifiers and special
use radio circuits. If you are interested in learning more about radio
theory and how radio was done in 1930 and earlier, this is the book for
you. It is very easy to read if you have any knowledge of electronic
theory at all. Here are some of the circuits included: Crystal Receiver using loose coupler.
Simple Triode Detector. Hazeltine Neutrodyne circuit. Screen Grid RF
circuit. Everyman Tuner using Arturus Tubes. Experimental Superhetrodyne
circuit. Three stage tuned RF circuit. Several Atwater Kent diagrams.
Push-Pull audio amplifier circuit. Simple short wave receiver using -00A
detector. Simple short wave one tube transmitter. Short wave
transmitter using type 71A tube. Complex CW transmitter using 210, 203,
852 tubes. Lofton-White direct coupled amplifier. National Screen grid
receiver. A Pilot Receiver. Silver Marshal receiver #30. Other brands
are Majestic, Pilot, Kolster, Crosley, Grebe, Hammarland, Fada,
Freshman, and more.
There is a
write-up for each one. 64 pages. This little booklet is a nice way to put hundreds
of circuit diagrams at your fingertips in a very small space with an
analysis of each circuit to improve your knowledge of how things were
done in those days. Don’t miss out on this nice item. |

"Philco
Radios and Radio-Phonographs for 1949". Here is a nice current
reproduction of a 1949 Philco product catalog. It
has 58 pages on their product line. The first 25 pages are devoted to
the entire line of radios and phonographs that they marketed in 1949. A
picture of each item is shown and there is a typical sales pitch on the
radio and why you should want to buy one. Phonographs, table radios and
console radios are shown. It is interesting to note that not a single TV
is shown or mentioned. I wonder if they really understood in 1948/49
what was going to hit them in a few short years. If you are a Philco
Collector, you will probably find this catalog useful in helping you
know what to look for in collectable Philco radios. Page 26 to 58 are
full of information on non-radio Philco products such as their line of
refrigerators and freezers for 1948. In black and white, as in the
original catalog. |

"Instructions for Installing and Operating Fada Neutrolette
Radio Receivers No. 192-A". This is a nice new
reproduction of an early battery TRF Radio manual. This
manual is specifically for the FADA Neutrolette Model 192-A, but it is
chock full of information on the early TRF sets and how to operate them.
This manual is useful for operating ANY of the early TRF 3 stage sets.
It talks about the various batteries needed and how to hook them up.
There are three pages devoted to tuning the set and several more on
trouble-shooting problems. There are lots of clear diagrams to
illustrate the explanations. There is a page devoted to explaining the
201 and 301A tubes and how they work. There are three pages on
interference and where it comes from and what to do about it. The 22
pages in this manual will be of great help to ANYONE trying to get ANY
brand of the 1000's of battery TRF sets working. These sets usually used
01A tubes, that were made during the 1920's. This manual will help you
get your set hooked up and working properly. You may pay for this via

Atwater Kent Radio Service Manual 1926/1927. 38 pages. Reduced
in size from the original. Size is 5 1/5" by 8 1/2". Printing is
clear, but small and you will need good eyes or glasses to read this
manual. Also, the original had very poor quality photos of the
chassis. They were barely useable and the copies in this smaller
manual are worse yet. You will be able to distinguish some detail
but not much. The drawings, circuit diagrams and text are all
readable and useful. This is a hard to find manual. It is the first
one I have seen in 10 years of looking for these manuals. This
manual covers the following early radios: Model 10, 10B, 12, 19,
20, 20 Compact, 32, 33, 35 and 50. Also show the "B" power unit. It
is loaded with early radio theory that applies not only to AK but to
any of the early battery radios. Some of the subjects are: Theory
of Radio Receivers, nice clear drawings of various components such
as transformers and tubes, purpose and use of the various
components, wiring diagrams and what the symbols mean, how the
headphone sound unit works, troubleshooting, causes of interference,
Testing Atwater Kent Sets, Additional testing, specific troubles and
repairs, Use of "Power" tubes and "Detector" tubes, Servicing the
"B" power unit, servicing radio speakers, etc..

Atwater Kent
Instruction Manual Volume One (1). Here is our latest
reproduction - the rare Atwater Kent 1926 Volume 1. Originals of
this manual typically go for $150 or more. This one contains all
the original data, but will cost you much less. You are buying this
for the value of it's contents only and not for it's photo quality
or collector value. That having been said, this is a very nice
manual and well worth the price. It has about 12 pictures of early
1926 radios. There is some loss of quality in the photos as you
would expect in a laser copy, but they are pretty decent. |

Here is a current reproduction of an old Atwater Kent Parts List
from 1927. This is fairly rare and if you can't find the original,
then this copy is the next best thing. This is reduced size of 5
1/2" by 8 1/2" to fit nicely on your book shelf. It has 24 pages of
great stuff on the following models of radios: 9, 10, 12, 19, 20,
20 Compact, 21, 24, 30, 32, 35 and 50. It also has information on
the following speakers: G, H, K, L, M, R and E. The B Power units
is also covered. Buy this for the value of it's drawings and text,
not for the quality of the photos. The photos are not as clear as
the original photos were. For the Model 20 and up, most of the
component parts are illustrated. The drawings for the parts that are
illustrated are very detailed. Breadboard parts are not illustrated,
but are listed in a parts listing. If you are restoring a Model 20
or up, this manual will be of great help to you. It shows almost
every ternimal and wire of every component part. No returns or
refunds on this. |
